If you see a helicopter spending time over certain areas of Live Oak, it could be a simple pollution survey.
With the state of world politics and the economy as it is today, people are very wary of their surroundings, and are very curious about out of the ordinary activity. If, during the month of August, you see a helicopter hovering somewhere it usually doesn’t over Live Oak, don’t be alarmed; it’s simply an aerial survey.
The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality is conducting an aerial survey to see the amount of visible pollution in various areas of Texas, like Corpus Christi, Live Oak, and others. The aerial survey will be conducted by a white helicopter that will be seen hovering over pipelines, oil and gas plants, other industry plants, and more. If you see a helicopter that alarms you, look for the ID number on it’s tail. The survey helicopter’s will be N141LS.
Expect to the see the aerial survey over Live Oak around August 24. Keep your eyes towards the sky!

Were they just doing visual inspections or did they have some type of equipment on board to monitor things?
Hi Sam, I’m not sure if they had equipment with them or not. We saw the article and thought the information may be something that our residents and readers wanted to know. If you’d like more information, I’d suggest contacting the The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality or visiting their website.
